Halloween is one of the most varied times of year for our face artists.

One booking might call for quick Halloween designs for hundreds of guests, while another gives us the time to create detailed skulls, gothic face art or elaborate character make-up.

Over the years, we’ve painted at corporate parties, shopping centres, public events and promotional projects, creating everything from fast two-minute designs to much more detailed Halloween transformations.

Here are some examples from previous Glitter-Arty events.

Halloween Face Painting for Corporate Events

Corporate Halloween events make up a significant part of our October calendar.

We’ve provided Halloween face painting for companies including Amazon and Asda, working with both adult-only events and corporate family celebrations.

Designs can be adapted to the guest, their costume and how far they want to take the Halloween theme, from smaller eye details and cobwebs to skulls, vampires and more elaborate face art.

At corporate family events, we work with adults and children side by side.

This can mean moving between an adult skull or vampire design and a quick ghost, pumpkin or Halloween design for a child, while keeping the queue moving throughout the event.

Halloween Face Painting for Shopping Centres & Public Events

Shopping centres and public Halloween events require a different approach, particularly where footfall is high and large numbers of guests want to take part.

Although these events are often planned with children in mind, adults regularly join the queue too. We adapt the level of detail to the event, creating recognisable Halloween designs quickly when guest numbers are high.

We’ve provided Halloween face painting at busy shopping centres and public events in London, Cambridge, Leicester and Bedford, with artist numbers and design timings planned around the expected footfall.

Creative Halloween Face Art & Makeup

Some Halloween projects allow considerably more time for detailed creative work.

For the marketing of a Halloween event at Up at The O2, we created a Grim Reaper make-up look for promotional imagery, followed by Halloween face art for the team taking part in the live climbs.

With more time available, our artists can develop the shading, linework, composition and finer details that aren’t possible within a high-footfall event format.

The photographs from The O2 project show how differently Halloween face art can be approached when the brief is focused on imagery and visual impact.

Sugar Skull & Day of the Dead Face Painting

Sugar skull and Day of the Dead-inspired designs have been a recurring part of our Halloween work for many years.

Our portfolio includes decorative eye designs, half-face compositions and full sugar skulls using florals, skeletal details, colour, glitter and gems.

At one Halloween event, guests requested sugar skull designs with very different interpretations, from colourful decorative designs to darker versions incorporating more traditional skull elements. The photographs below show some of the variation our artists created across the event.

Halloween Face Painting Ideas for Your Event

The examples throughout this article show how widely a Halloween face painting brief can vary. A busy public event may need fast, recognisable designs, while a corporate party, hospitality event or creative commission can allow for more detailed face art.

The design approach, artist numbers and painting time can all be planned around the type of event, guest numbers and creative direction.
